Photomerge in CS6 - help needed

Can any PS experts please tell me if there is away to either manually merge photos into a panorama in CS6, or some way I can force it to auto merge the photos in the order I want it to?

I ask because I am trying to stitch together 20 images (10 on one level, 10 on another) to form a 360 deg panorama, 2 images high and 10 images long, to make into a little planet. For the life of me, I cannot work out how to get the images to merge in numerical order to give me good image ends to merge in the final part of making a planet.

Extremely frustrating!!

Thanks Castos...not quite what I need. I can do that, but instead of merging the pics in the order of 1 thru to 10, it merges them as, for example, 7-8-9-10-1-2-3-4-5-6, so when I do the next layer, it will not match vertically

I am thinking maybe I did not overlap my images enough :( Can't think of any other reason, because it is going to take the EASIEST matching sequence it can.

Have you thought of doing it in two stages? First merge your vertical shots; 1 with 11, 2 with 12 and so on. Then merge the ten resulting images to create the horizontal panorama. It' a bit more work but should work. :D

As WeeHector says, the only way I know of is to piecemeal it out in sections and then join the sections. It would be great if you could open the pieces in layers and then apply a grid to the layers to "help" PS do its work, but not yet.

I have tried every which way I can think of to be honest. I might give this a go (not sure if I have tried it this way yet). Thanks for the suggestion :D
I know I tried in blocks of 4 shots, all upper & all lower, partial upper, all in 1 hit etc etc

The most frustrating thing is I did one and it worked. Have not been able to get another one to work since then and I must have tried another half dozen times :(
