Hey,
I have a SmugMug account that I rarely use. It seems silly to keep it when it costs around $100 bucks a year, and I don't have a pro business. I link to some of my albums now and then for friends or family.
Photobucket has gone away, and I am not a big fan of Flickr.

Any alternatives you guys can think of? I post on FaceBook now and then, but not everybody I know has an account, and frankly, I really hate FaceBook for a lot of reasons. I only keep that account because there are a bunch of people in Texas that use it, and they don't communicate any other way.

Maybe I should just dump SmugMug and not bother with a site.

How do you guys share images?
Thanks.

I only post my images here and on another non-photo interest website that has a photography subsection that a few folks there post to. Both this site and the other allow direct upload of images from your computer, so there is no need for a hosting service, unless you just want them out there for a wider audience. If I want to send a picture to a specific friend, or family member, I can also upload from my computer to an email or text message.

For sharing photos on forums, I use Imgur. Easy to link to photos there, but not as easy to build albums and organize. Mostly it is used by others for making and hosting memes and stuff like that. I mostly keep my photo posts set to "Private" and link individual photos, but I have set a few albums loose as public.

Just for family and friends, Google photos is literally made for that. Uploading photos and making albums is very easy. I organize a new album each year to make it easier for others to keep up with my work.

And another free way to go is Nikon. I pretty much mirror my Google albums at Nikon Image Space, but I'm a bit more selective about what I put there. It has more powerful controls for sharing, and image organization is even easier. Not friendly to linking for forums though.

But here I just directly upload now since the new forum upgrade.
