In some respects, I miss the old film days. If you bought a good SLR camera, it was still a good camera several years down the road. Yes, a new SLR might have some new tricks to make it easier to use, or able to do something new, but, for the most part, if you used the old and new camera with the same lens to take the same picture of the tree in a field, your would be hard pressed to tell which camera made which picture. If a new and improved film came out you updated your SLR by buying a roll of the new film. Now, if you buy a good DLSR it will be obsolete and outdated in a year or two. Take a low light picture with a 3 year old camera vs. and new camera and the difference will be obvious. Not that this is necessarily bad, but it can get expensive!
