I use what we call yabbies here in OZ. I can't count how many times I have cast out only to have a seagull come from nowhere and grab my bait. On several occasions the hook has been caught in birds mouth. Not a damm thing I can do about it. It usually ends with me cutting the line, otherwise I have a bird flying around on the end of my line.
