Hi ... new member here and will update profile shortly but wanted to ask first if anyone has played with an Oppilas wireless remote control? I purchased this off Amazon and can of course return it but I wanted to give it a chance first. It doesn't work :( ... at least not for me. 2 piece system: receiver mounts on hot shoe, cable from receiver to GPS port on side of the camera. transmitter is hand held, obviously. 4 settings ... single shot / multi shot / bulb / self timer. They appear to be talking to each other. When I press the transmitter button, in any mode, the receiver light flashes. But ... the camera itself doesn't react. I've tried this on each mode on the camera ... P / A / S / M with no difference. Receiver flashes, camera does nothing. The button on the remote if held partially down is supposed to activate auto focus, just like the shutter button on the camera .... nothing happens. If the button on the remote is pushed all the way down, the shot should be taken ... nothing happens. Before I go off fretting that my camera has a problem, I'd like to ask here if anyone is familiar with this, and / or if there is some other setting on the D3100 that I have to set to "tell" the camera to act on the remote. Any suggestions? Thanks ... Phil Z (and I'm off to create a profile)
