So I'm going to NYC in December to see all the pretty lights and stuff. I currently have a D7000 with a 16-85vr and a 50 1.4 in my bag. (Yes, can you believe that's it?! :P) I know that the 50 would be great for bokeh shots of the Christmas lights and portraits of my girlfriend, but fear that it'll be a bit long on my crop camera for cityscape photos that probably are going to occur ALL the time walking around the city.. I was contemplating buying the D600 up there at Adorama before nightfall on the day of my arrival. I know the 16-85's VR is excellent, but I fear that it simply won't be enough with 16mm @ f.3.5. I could rent a lens, but I'm generally against that as the money could be used to simply purchase said lens. I've been thinking of going full frame before the end of the year for a while now and I don't want to buy a lens that I won't use on a FF camera when I eventually go that route. I could ask to borrow a friends' 35mm 1.8, but still, that focal length I fear won't be wide enough for 80% of the shots I plan. I guess I just need some advice as to what I should do. :concern:
