If video is very important to you, since the D3400 (and the new D3500) only support HD vs. 4K video, you might want to consider other cameras.

Just got a D3500 and, so far, after testing video with my son riding his scooter around I can tell you that the autofocus is BAD. It cannot effectively track my 5y/o riding his scooter, slowly.

If video is a priority, or even just something you'll do often, I would look at a Sony Alpha or maybe the entry-level Canons.
