Older model lenses on newer nikons

Being on a fixed income that leaves very little money to splurge on my new Nikon and my NAS addiction. lol :)
But I found a few lenses that were cheap enough so that I could manage to buy them, as you can see in my signature. So what older less expensive lenses would you recommend for members in a simular financial situation?
I highly recommend my 105mm. I'm loving this lens even though it's manual focus and needs to be used on M. :D
I like my 70-300mm and it seems like a pretty good buy at the $135.00 plus shipping that I paid for it. :)
So like I said "What older lenses would you recommend"?

If i move away from nikon,Tamron 300mm 5.6 sp had a good reputation.the Tamron 500mm mirror can be good in certain situations,Nikon 200mm f4,Nikon 135mm 3.5,some folk liked the older sigma 400mm i think it was 5.6 not the black version though as the body coating can go sticky.

Any of the D lenses will be good. Though, you will have to manually focus them all. If you want some current AF-S glass, look out for the 18-55, 18-105, 55-200. All good lenses and you should be able to get them for a few hundred dollars each. You can venture into older Tammys or Siggys, but they are generally not that great. If you are not into pixel peeping and dissecting your photos, there are a lot of good, cheap lenses to be had.

Are any of those D lenses you'd especially recommend as working great for you? Like say a Favorite or something? :)

If you can live without autofocus and some modes of automation, manual focus AIS Nikkors can't be beat. All of my lenses, some 30 years old, are AI/AIS and they work perfectly on my D700
