I bought this lens used, i have read that sometimes doesnt work on "newer" cameras, as the D7000.

Well it doesnt, i also have read that you can send it to sigma and get it "re chipped" or "firmware update" so it can now comunicate with the camera.
im wondering if some one has already done this and did it work?

apparently i have to send it all they way to sigma japan, to get it checked.

any comments will be much appreciated.

thanks

I have an even older Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 which I believe is the version made before yours, and it works fine on my D610. Have you contacted Sigma in the US? Here is a link to their contact info: Contact Us | Sigma Corporation of America
