[QUOTE="downunder, post: 410020, member: 29516"] I picked this discontinued lens up a few months ago but in great condition for $170 US. It had just sat in my camera bag until now but I got my opportunity to try it out when my wife and I visited the Bunya Mountains National Park near where I live on the weekend. The Park is a beautiful highland rainforest area in south-east Queensland and with its low light and enclosed rainforest vegetation it offered a great location for trying out the lens. We had experienced some very hot days and my wife and I needed some relief from the heat. We knew it would be cooler at the Bunyas. As it turned out, it was 25 degrees centigrade at the Bunya Mountains versus our 34 degrees at our home only 45 minutes away. I took my trusty D700 along with the lens and they appear to be a fairly good combination. Not a lot had been written about this lens and for the price I found it to be a gem. Below are a few photos I took with the lens.
