NO I tracked it down to FLEXIBLE PROGRAMME....so its linking the P mode flexible programme function to the flash and making that flexible.It works like this ...in P  mode on the dial and with 1/320th FP in the menu it will adjust the flash sync from 1/60 to 1/320 th and its not locked at 1/60th...and if you are in P you can use the master dial to keep it below 1/3200.Problem is I dont use P very often but I can transfer the setting to my U2 A f11 200to6400 which I use most of the time and avoid possible problems..It seems the 1/320 will also follow the settings in A and Auto......Your comments and tests much appreciated</blockquote>
