The D90 has the AF motor + the D7000...Having the inbuilt AF motor allows you to buy a lens like the 80-200mm AF IF ED F2.8 which is about $1200 cheaper the the &amp;0-200mm F2.8..

Sigma make lens that will AF on your D3100 it has HSM on them...
