NIkon Z shutter activations

Hi, I've been trying to figure out the number of shutter activations (not exposures) I have on my Nikon Z6. All Z cameras with shutters can also take electronic pictures.

There are some programs that can be downloaded, but sometimes they are only for Windows and if they are for Mac, the OS refuses to install it due to security reasons. This is why I have been forced to look for online services.

Hidden in the NEF EXIF metadata are how many shots are taken and how many shutter activations have been made. So I started searching for a site that could extract just that, and I finally found it.

The site I have used
only shows the number of pictures taken, regardless of the type. It turned out to be 26,653.

To find out the shutter activations I have used
where I can drop a file and the number of shutter activations is returned. The number in my camera is 19,305.

The difference between these numbers, i.e. electronic exposures, is 7,348.

It would be nice if these numbers were in the camera menus. They must be hidden somewhere in the camera.

I know someone that uses exiftool, which I think is different to the one you have mentioned.

What I can never understand is that Nikon Z cameras come with a shutter lifetime rating, yet you never seem to see it displayed in secondhand sales  . It seems to be like buying a secondhand car without knowing the mileage.

Or that it shall be so difficult to actually find out how many shutter activations a mirrorless camera has.

MPB includes shutter count on a lot of it's cameras. They also include a picture of the actual camera being sold, not a stock photo.

Can I ask you under which EXIF you found the number of shutter actuations (not the number of photos taken)?

The number of photos taken is under the EXIF ImageNumber, which also appears in my own software, which is KUSO EXIF Viewer. In my Z7 II, that count is at 8296, which correspond to the filename numbering I use for the NEF files.

Ok, but my point is why don't the likes of MPB etc show this figure in secondhand sales.

On the UK MPB site there is no shutter counts listed on the Z camera's. You only get a picture and a grading.
Yes, they do that here as well. They do have shutter counts listed on the DSLRs. At least for the Nikons. I was thinking that it was the other way around, until I looked again.
