Nikon vs "The World"

We often talk about how many Nikon cameras we see vs that other brand. While in Utah and Arizona on vacation I paid attention to the cameras I saw. Nikon was probably 3 to 1 over the other brands combined. Sony and canon were pretty much tied. Of course the phones took top numbers among all shooters. The funnest ones of course were the tablet photographers.

I often have a bit of a sneaky peaky at airshows at who shoots with what along the crowdline. Canon are always the more prevalent. If i were to roughly average 10 DSLR users, 5.5 would shoot Canon, 2.5 Nikon, and 1 Sony and 1 Others (Pentax etc). I guess we're mainly looking at long range lens users, somewhere where Sony etc don't get much of an offering, though they are starting to get a choice now

I think since this was not sports or long range shooting that might be the reason Nikon was more prevalent.

On a day to day basis, I tend to see more Canon than Nikon... I agree with Don on Phones!! Tablets, could never understand!!

Interesting to note that Disney World Photogs are all all issued Nikon Gear....

I am currently running a workshop with a group of 7 clients. There are 3 Canons and one each of Nikon, Sony, Fuji and Olympus.

I have noticed that there are many times more Chevrolet cars on the road than there are Cadillac vehicles also.

More Chevys than Yugos too. Or my absolute personal favorite Pontiac Aztec.
