Can anyone explain how the flash power of the sb 5000 is displayed from low to high on the flash display? It Shows 1/1 is the highest and I see 1/128 as the lowest. will this setting affect the power of the flash?

I represents the flash duration with 1/1 being the longest duration 1/128 being the shortest. The longer flash duration the more light on the subject given the same camera settings. The flash manual will most likely have a chart tell the approximate duration for each setting.

You can also calculate stops from that power. 1/2 power is 1 stop less than 1/1. 1/4 power is 2 less than 1/1, and so on.
