Nikon Rumors

Saw earlier today on nikon rumors that later in the year a d7200 was coming out instead of a d400.
With the d7100 less then a year old why come out with a newer camera?
Is it cause of the buffer problem people were complaining about.
I see no issue with the buffer if you no when to use it for the sport or wildlife you are trying to capture.

Same as the D600, no real problem, just a refresh (and silently correct something that wasn't officially wrong).

The D400 was never coming out, it's something that Nikon shooters want (like we think we know what we need, lol, Nikon knows better :)), but isn't going to happen.

Just call it an iD7100s and it'll sell like hot cakes!!

I'll be happier if the D7200 comes out as it'll push the price of the D7100 down into my budget, and it's more than capable for what I need to see me through for the next decade :)

Instead of a megapixel race, it seems to be a new body race now. Like any other tech it's outdated in less than a year. Nikon isn't gonna wait any longer than canon.

They seem to be doing it with all the DX series. The D3xxx and D5xxx has popped out new models about once a year for the last couple years. Remember, sometimes new and improved doesn't always mean the other is old and outdated. But if you sit on innovation all that means is that you're giving someone else a chance to introduce it first.

Based on specifications of the D5300 and D3300 as well as other sources, I would expect to see the xpeed 4 processor in it which seems to give one more stop of ISO at the top end before you have to go to the extended ISOs. I expect the top "standard" ISO to go from 6400 to 12,800. This would seem to match other comments I have seen about the newer processor having improved ISO performance. I don't expect to see the buffer changed since the D5300 buffer and the D7100 buffer are about the same. I hope I am wrong on that but there are a lot of reasons that it may not be feasible to increase the size of the buffer memory at this time. I have also seen comments that the newer cameras have improved contrast detection AF and improved live view performance but I haven't seen anything yet that actually verifies that.
