When you send it it does Nikon fix anything they find wrong and clean the sensor etc, or just the issue, In my case the screen is totally bright and can't be adjusted to see the menus. In other words does it come back like new. I once sent a lense in a few years ago for a switch issue and they fixed that and cleaned the lense instead spotless and I didn't ask for that they just did it.
