nikon p520 for recording videos of solo act

I do a solo act and want to record and post those videos to youtube. My question is since I use a couple of somewhat small amps for vocals and instrument amplification does the p520 have any limiters so that the audio does not become distorted. I am thinking about buying a used one currently. My father has one and the pictures are wonderful the telephoto and macro seems to work nice, what is your opinion about recording live solo act music. Thanks.

I would suggest that you borrow your father's camera and test it for yourself. Chances are the the audio quality may not be up to what you might want for music. Even the Higher end DSLRs with the built in mics are not the greatest for music. They do ok but generally much better with external microphones.

does anyone know if the nikon p520 has a limiter built into the audio so that loader audio does not ditort when recording videos. Thanks

I think you may do better by contacting Nikon in your own country,with this being predominantly a still image forum i think you will be lucky to get a answer.
