I have no real, legitimate experience with Macro lenses, but I do hear a lot and lately I've heard the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro is the hot ticket.

At this price I would much rather go for the Tokina 100mm or the Tamron 90mm (there is 2 of them I believe, one with and one without vibration control)
If not for any other reason , the 85mm is a DX lens. Unless you know that you're going to stay with a DX camera for a while, these other lenses that I have mentioned would be a better option, imo.

How about Micro-Nikkor 60 f/2.8? It is known to be extremely good. Or the 105/2.8?

The resale value of the used 85/3.5 DX lenses seems to be well below $200 here in northern Europe, which suggests it's really not very hot. But if you can get one at $100 and later sell it at $200, it would be worth your while.

Apology guy's......You were right and I was blind, I now realise that this lens was a mistake but am able to sell it for what I paid and am going for the Tamron SP 90mm macro.
