Hark, the sale is also detailed at NikonUSA.com, so I believe that all retailers should have the sale on. Maybe someone else here knows if a Nikon retailer can even offer discounts on new Nikon gear if Nikon doesn't authorize it.

I keep wondering if and when the price of the non-VR 24-70mm f/2.8 will come down. It's on sale this time, but eventually the price of the VR version should drop, too.
Between the two of them, which one do you really prefer?

While the 24 - 70 is an intriguing lens, I'm committed to using my primes (28, 35, 50, & 85 mm) near this focal range. I do want to cover the low end with either a 20mm or possibly shorter lens, say maybe a Nikon 15mm. None of these, save for the 85, really need VR from what I can tell, and I really shouldn't need it on an 85 either.
Were I going to purchase the 24 - 70, I'd most likely opt for the non-VR version, as well.

If @jdeg ever gets the Marketplace sorted out, I'll have a 20mm AF-D for sale. Unless you're thinking about the newer 1.8 version.
I was really looking at getting either the AI-s manual version or the Sigma Art f/1.4 if I get the 20mm before I find a 15 mm that I like.
Why are you looking at selling your D version?
