I purchased the same lens earlier this year for £30 on ebay with a known focus fault that is common on this particular lens ( crack in ribbon). I acquired it specifically for snap shots on holiday and it did a very good job as a manual focus lens, so to me it would all depend on what you need it for, Switch it to manual and snap away, save the repair money and treat yourself to a different lens that is on your wish list.  All the best.</p></blockquote><p></p>
