Greetings All. My wife & I just made the switch from Canon to Nikon. Growing up, my father was a Nikon shooter (B&W processing in the basement, etc.) & I used to borrow his 35mm cameras to photograph motocross races. How Wifey & I got deep into Canon, I have no idea. We got real lucky recently & found someone that wanted to buy all of our old gear, so we were able to start fresh with new Nikon hardware. It'll take a while to grow the gear list to what it was, but we have what we need and are really liking it. We started off with 2 x D500's, D850, a couple TC's, & all the glass we could get from our "trade". We still have a 500PF on order, but they sure seem to be on the slow-boat. We did try a Z7, but for wildlife & particularly birds, "it wasn't as good for me" as the 500 so we swapped it for the D850 and are happy w/ the results. First impressions from the D500(s) is excellent. I am floored by focus acquisition, lock, & tracking for birds in flight. It is superior to even the high-end Canon's I have been shooting for the last several years. I found this site while out searching for Nikon resources. We have a lot to learn, but we are eager! :) Phil
