Nikon D90 and Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 DiII

I have a chance to buy this for a very good deal. The camera I really don't care about but it only has 11,000 clicks on it so it might be worth something but my real goal is the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 DiII. Does anyone know anything about this lens and how good is the quality. I have been running into a need for faster lenses lately. They are only asking $220 for both and it is nearby so I can see, touch and try both before I buy.

Had one. They are hit and miss with sharpness. The one I got while it captured decent low light images, the images were way too soft between F2.8 and F4. if you stay at above F4, you will get outstanding images. But you wouldn't purchase this lens to shoot above that now would you.

From what I have heard it is a good lens Don. @Marcel has this lens and says good things about it, I think he has the model that doesn't have VC, I think I remember reading it is sharper than the newer model.

Jump on it Don. Both are fantastic. I have the 17-50 with VC and it's sharp enough that I sold the Nikon 15--55 and kept that one instead.

The ad was just posted 2 days ago and I got a email back from the seller that he had sold it already. At the price I had planned to buy it already. The D90 probably would have been worth that much.

Oh well, I will keep looking.
