I had problems with my D3100 when I bought it. Returning it for service only made it worse. When I returned it to BestBuy after they had tried to fix it they just handed me a new one in the box. The second one was perfect. I got the D5100 as a refurb and I actually think it is better than new. Someone had to check it by hand to make sure it was all correct. I still love my Nikon but I do think the quality control is slipping. Maybe they need to quit making so many different models and concentrate of making the more limited model lineup better. How many different models are presently in production including all the CoolPix and up?
