I had this exact same problem last night at a school concert. I have no way to explain it. I had already shot three or four videos with my Nikon D 5500 which is 7 months old. Suddenly it just stopped working. Live view was working properly, but when I pressed the red button, it would not start recording video. Four months ago, I had used this camera to record 90 minutes of concert (each song a separate 4 minute file) with no issues. When it stopped working last night, I tried three different memory cards. I changed to a full battery. Of note, I was switching back and forth between my two Nikon Dx lenses. After the concert was over I switched lenses one more time and Video suddenly started working again. It is working today, but I have no idea why... By the way, the Nikon ME-1 microphone captures amazing sound, even from the other side of the school gym. Gary Ebert
