Okay, My ~3 month review... The D500 does everything I need Extremely well. I researched it and bought it for very specific reasons, all my own. I didn't watch one single video review on youtube until after I owned my copy. I whole heartedly believe that Every one of those are tainted by the reviewers preconceived ideas, no matter how good their intentions are. Things I love: The focus system is light years beyond my trusty D90. The speed for sports/birds is mind boggling coming from a ~4 generation old camera. The IQ is beyond what my current skill level can surpass, so More than I can ask for. Auto focus fine tuning is simple. Things I like: The touch screen is pretty handy but could be better. SnapBridge is handy for snapshot/family photo sharing but could be Much better. Back lighted buttons! Things I wish were better: Less convoluted menus! (I know, a Nikon tradition!) Better use of the Fn 1 and Fn2 buttons. More pixels would have been great, but in my use, I don't really Need them. 2 XQD Slots! That's it. Take it for what it's worth. Overall, I Love my D500 and have zero second thoughts or doubts about my decision to purchase it.
