The TTL flash has to be compatible with Nikon cameras, and has to do Nikon CLS hot shoe communication to program the TTL flash, so the camera clearly will know the TTL flash is present (and should not pop up the internal flash). Manual flashes do not need brand recognition or compatibility, they simply fire when the center pin is shorted. We set power level ourselves, manually. However, I don't know if the YN560 zooms manually or automatically? Automatic would require some portion of the hot shoe communication, to follow the lens zoom automatically (if it does?) I don't know how those might react in camera Auto mode?
