That's pretty standard for Bridge cameras, but tiny even compared to the Nikon CX (J1,V1) sensor size. Also the max aperture is something like F3.3 on the P600. I dunno. The lenses for the Nikon 1 series are pretty nice, but add whatever lenses you have for the D7100 with a simple adapter. And you can have a serious little kit going. While I doubt you could rival 1440mm, a 300mm lens for your dSLR will reach out to 810mm. As as to being discontinued....I dunno. It wouldn't bother me really.</blockquote>
