Nikon Bought Red... For the Videographers

I do not shoot video, but today, it was announced that Niko was purchasing Red. Red sued Nikon for Patent infringement not to long ago. I guess they decided that if you can't beat them buy them.

I talked to a friend of mine about it, and he was very excited. He does videos with a Z7, music videos, and such. It seems Red is on his dream list. I am interested in the potential crossover from Red. They are a big deal in video. Just cool to see Nikon growing. They were the only one of the big three that did not have a dedicated video camera. Matt Erwin did do a video on Youtube with his thoughts if your interested.

It is a high end video camera. Their cameras are used in major motion pictures and things like music videos
