I was lucky enough to get to meet with Nikon at CES 2011 in their private meeting room. Unlike Canon, Nikon didn't have a show floor booth. I thought maybe they would be able to tell me a little about what's the come, like replacements for the D700 and D3 (D800, D4), or the mirrorless camera system. Unfortunately they couldn't tell me anything. I did get to play with a D7000 and D3s though. Both are very very nice cameras. I've never held either before so it was nice to fiddle with them. I can say without a doubt that the D7000 will be my next camera, as long as I can find one in stock. I did get a tidbit of info about the D3100 being a favorite thing of Oprah's. I was told that there is a firmware update that was just released for the sb-700, that makes the recycle time faster. I can't find a firmware update though. Maybe I misunderstood? To be honest, Nikon's presence was disappointing. They didn't have a show floor presence and didn't even bring all their new high end lenses with them to the meeting room. Why? I'm sure by then they'll have more new products to boast.
