Nikon AF F-801 lens query

Hi, i'm new to this forum.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a lens query. I have a nikon AF F-801 35mm SLR film camera. I have been researching what lenses I can actually use with it and I read somewhere that i could only use a 24mm and up lens because anything lower would not fill the whole negative. Is this true? I am currently using a Nikon 35-70mm mostly but was hoping to get something smaller. Sorry if this is the wrong part of the forum!

Thanks

You should be able to use any AF lens for FX but I am not sure if you will get AF off the AF-s ones it will meter with Ai lenses too, I used an Ai mount 18-30 or something like that on mine. Just have to make sure its a full frame lens and there are a few lenses from the 60's that need a cam with permanent mirror lock up as the rear element goes too far back.

that is the non US model of the 8008, solid Nikon body, and can use just about everything except the modern DX lens.. since those are designed for smaller sensors.

I would recommend an old 20 mm Manual focus AI or AIS lens. or even the AF 20 mm lens if you can afford it,,.

you can also find lots of vendor lens for Nikon mounts that are wide angle.. all depends on your budget.
