Nikon 80-200/2.8........ non VR. Whadda lens.

This is from my $600 Nikon 80-200/2.8 (@ 5.6) and D800. This lens was intended for a tripod and the VR feature is not a requirement in my case. Frankly, it is just too heavy to hand hold for any length of time. And, the price difference compared to the 70-200VR isn't small change. This is a phenominal lens. I haven't been able to get out for photo searching, but I felt a compulsion to take a snap. Nothing fancy, but the mechanics of the lens is amazing. This is tonight's sundown from the wrong direction at about 80-100 yards. I'm really glad to own this lens.

Likewise Ted...I've used it for surfing, motoX, portraits and the odd landscape shots...A very good lens to have in the bag...

Nice picture....based on price is this the 2 ring af-d or the push pull version with one ring?
