He said it would be nice if Nikon were to update the lens because of a design flaw. When I questioned him, he said not only is the lens somewhat heavy, it is heavy on the front end. Some pro photographers who used the lens extensively were having structural problems with the zoom because of the front end weight although casual users didn't seem to be as affected by the problem. I wonder if that's what causes the stiff zoom ring you questioned?</p></blockquote><p></p>
