He rated it as poor and referred to it as a "plastic fantastic" with tape being used to hold together some of the insides. He did not think it would survive any sort of impact. These are not very glowing reviews. There may be more information and reviews on the lens that I was not able to find so it may be worth while doing some additional research. [QUOTE="Joseph Bautsch, post: 16431, member: 654"] Curt, I haven't personally used this lens but to find some information on it you can use I went on line and did some research. I found two review articles and that was about it. The lens was referred to as a normal range telephoto, with 50mm being the normal range. It is a "D" lens which means you have to have a body with a lens focus drive built in for the lens to AF. It evidently was originally designed for use on the Nikon F series which means it is an FX lens. No manufacturers date was given. Both reviews rate the lens in the below to average in lens quality range. It performed well at f/8 and both indicated that the lens was probably worth the price. One of the reviewers was evidently a lens repairman and disassembled it to look at its construction. He rated it as poor and referred to it as a "plastic fantastic" with tape being used to hold together some of the insides. He did not think it would survive any sort of impact. These are not very glowing reviews. There may be more information and reviews on the lens that I was not able to find so it may be worth while doing some additional research. Hope this helps.
