Next lens to purchase?

Hi,

Im new to photography and am slowly trying to collect new lenses. I mostly want to maternity/newborn/weddings/family photography and am wonder what lens you would suggest next. I currently have a Nikkor 50mm 1.8D lens and my 18-150 mm kit lens that came with my D7100. I know of the "holy trinity" but am currently on a bit of a budget so Im thinking another prime lens might be what Im look for I just don't know what to go for. What would you get next and why? Thanks so much. :)

Hard to argue with the Nikon 85mm f/1.8G; it's super sharp, fast, light and handy for so many things. Definitely one of my favorite lenses for both DX and FX bodies.

And while the 50mm vs 35mm thing has been beat to death, I have to say, on a DX body I much prefer the wider 35mm over the 50mm, so I'd suggest the 35mm f/1.8 over the 50mm. That, or the mind-blowingly good Sigma 35mm f/1.4 "Art" lens. Pricey, but dear gawd the "Art" series lenses are fantastic.
