I have a few Nikon D1x cameras. They function fine, (will take pictures, LCD screen work fine) However when I look through the viewfinder, the image gets strange. If I hold my eye a good ways away from the viewfinder, the image is full and fine. However when I move my eye closer to the viewfinder, black starts creeping from all sides of the image, the only thing that is still visible in the viewfinder is the center of the image I am focusing on. This is similar to looking through a rifle scope or binoculars when you put your eye too close to the lens. If I take the lens off and try it, the viewfinder stays fully lit no matter how close my eye is to the viewfinder. I have tried multiple lenses and they all do the same thing. Anyone know what the problem is?
