A half depression focuses on whatever and then i lock the remote fully depressed.I then jump in front of the camera and the auto focus finds me, I can move about get closer hold the fish at different angles etc and it just keeps adjusting focus and shooting continuously.So, when doing this in the dark with af assist (the light) it focuses initially on the Carp cradle (in darkness it obviously needs something near to focus on).
