Just wanted to say hello. I'm new to DSLRs. I have lots of experience with 35mm
but it's all been with Canons. This is my first Nikon and I'm very happy, although a bit
over whelmed by the amount of information I'll need to absorb in order to operate it.
In many ways it's a more forgiving format but there are so many more options on this
camera than any that I owned previously.
I will probably be haunting the forum, annoying folks with my newbie questions. I hope
you folks are patient. :)

Thanks for listening.

Regards,
Len

You know I did fill out my profile, at least with the info. I wanted on it, and the section for equipment seems to refuse to accept my new
lens: Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70mm-300mm 1:4.5-5.6 G. It did allow the other two lenses in but not that one.
I'd like to include them in a signature but I can't do that until they allow that lens in my profile as well.
When I originally saw that they had the wrong lens in there I looked for a link to edit my profile without success. If you hadn't provided me
with the link that you did here I would not have been able to edit the profile. So I went and deleted the lens that they entered off of that drop down menu and typed my lens in but it's now all messed up.
Is there a link, sort of a how-to to show us newbies how to make changes in our profiles etc.?
Thank to all for the welcomes and thanks for any help with the above issues.

Len

One of the most important parts that help people most when they ask a question is the Camera part. If you look to the right you can see what camera people shoot. There are a lot of people that shoot the D5100. I started off with that model and really enjoyed it up to the time I dropped it and put a big gaping hole in the case.
