There is auto-focus fine tuning in-camera in the D600 which allows you to compensate for front/backfocusing of lenses. If your lens does not render sharp results the auto-focus may need fine tuning to make it spot on. You are essentially adjusting the body to compensate for a lens issue. This is true of many lenses including nikon. Sigma's new lenses have updateable firmware (like a camera body) to change performance characteristics (like focus speed on their sport lenses). The dock is plugged into your computer and mounted on the lens. You can then adjust multiple focus point on the lens and correct it to the conditions of your camera body focusing. This is more effective than a blanket adjustment in the body.</p></blockquote><p></p>
