Just done a 3.5 hour drive from Birmingham to Plymouth which gave me an interesting idea for a new project when my tripod arrives.

ill update you all with photos when I get it underway - I want to see how well it works first!

anyone else about to embark on a new project/theme?

We'll I was thinking of doing some long exposures of cities out-of-view to show the amount of light pollution we create. So effectively landscapes at night with a city behind & below it. Wasn't sure how it would pan out.

I like that idea :) Looking forward to seeing it.

I need to get some images done for an exebition in february. But its so cooooold outside. And the images I am doing, really calls out for bare feet and dresses.

Also I wanna do some night photography with long exposures combined with either light painting or flash. I have a girlfriend who is up for it and I already bought a mask to use for it.

I light light painting - my knowledge of famous photographers is crap, but I remember a friend who was studying it for A level a few years back showed me a pic by a guy who had done some light paintings then used a flash at the end of the exposure so you saw the photo as was with the light painting over the top. Loved it and have been fascinated by it ever since.

I ordered the tripod on WEX so just waiting for the package to arrive!!!

My tripod broke. Or, not the tripod - that little thing you screw on the camera, and then lock on the tripod. We tried to glue it but it doesn't hold. Gotta go and see if I can get them to give me a new one, grr.

Yes there are some beautiful light painting images! Do you have a link for the one you like?

I've only tried it on plants and stuff like that so far, but think it worked as it should.

It's called a plate.

Which head do you have for your tripod? I'm pretty sure they make spares for it. :)

Plate, noted. It's just this really simple one:

It's from this year, so I really think they should replace it. (Just the plate, of course)

Maybe I should send my husband - 2 years ago, he bought a jacket. Next winter the zip broke, he went to the store and they fixed it, even though he didn't have the receive. It took them a month, which of course is a little annoying when it's already cold.
This winter it happened again! But this time he called the company which makes the jacket and they did know this had been a problem with some of the zips. So they gave him the brand new model! For free! With 2 years warranty. Amazing.
Sorry for of topic.
