Hello Nikonites fam... I have been shooting for quite sometime. Like over 35 years. Done the requisite weddings and on-site portraits, some studio work, landscape and a few models. And I will have to say my perfrence leads me to anything that is non-human. I guess my patience is low these days and I just don't have the energy. My first into photography as you can imagine was Black and White in my high school. Mamiya/Secor. Next step up was a Minolta something or 'nother. Then Mamiya RB67, Nikon N90. This is where I stayed and honed my skills (or lack thereof). Then sold my N90 for my firs Canon XTI digital. And yes I know it was a step down but also a step into the digital world. Played with that a few years then got a Canon 7D. I choose the 7D over the FF 5D at the time because I thought I was going to more video. As it stands out I very rarely used it for that. Maybe a total 2 hours over the past several years that I owned it. But as a used camera in todays standard, it is still quite capable and I had an eager buyer for it at a fair price. Which leads me back to where we are today. And the title "New "Old" Kid on the block". I now have a D800 that I picked up used along with a nifty-fifty. I am going to try my hand at this combo for a while to just get use to all the different aspect of the camera and also just to challenge myself. SO if any of you D800 or others of course have pointers, tips or guidance I am open to all. Something new I will be trying is I am going to post my photos RAW (untouched) to a google drive that I am opening up to the forum. I have very rarely done this before. SO I hope when the opportunity arises you can take a moment to check out what I have done and offer opinions.
