Hello to all, I just made the jump from the Nikon P500 superzoom (which I love despite its limitations) to the D7000. Okay, several HUGE jumps. I've only had it a couple of days and I'm really glad I kept my P500 because with it, I feel semi-smart and with the D7000, I feel mostly, well, not-so-smart. :chargrined: But I knew that would happen. This is my first ever DSLR so while I shot a lot in aperture mode with the P500, it's a whole new ballgame now. I keep telling myself it's going to take thousands of photos before I get even as good as I was with the old camera but it does get frustrating so I figured I should join another forum for some support. I've got a couple of books I'm reading on it (in addition to the manual) and I'm signed up with an intro class the place I bought the camera. Alas, that won't be for another 6 weeks so of course I'm going to be playing with it now. I'm a writer by trade and we recently converted our city garden into a native garden for wildlife. My interests in photography are to document the wildlife (birds!) that visit the yard. Anyway, hi everyone!
