New member from KS

Hi I'm new to photography and am looking forward to learn the world of photography. To start me off on the right path I'm needing insight on whether I should get the D7100 with the kit lens or getting a different lens. I will be getting the 35mm f/1.8G prime lens so what other lens will be good to have as an all rounder lens. Thanks in advance.

Currently I don't have anything but a point and shoot Sony DSC TX-7.

Welcome, get the kit and learn the camera. Great choice and the other lens choices will come, but really learn the camera and figure out what you want from there. The 18-105 is a great lens to get you started.
