Hi all, My name is Chris- I'm new to this site, but not new to Nikon. I am a former pro photographer, ranging from photojournalism to studio work. Back in the silver halide days, I shot all formats from 35mm up to 8x10 and focused most of my skills in the darkroom. I have owned many Nikons, starting back from 1984 and my first body, the lowly Nikon EM and 50mm 1.8. My working gear was based around the Nikon F2 AS body (later moving to the F4) and 12 to 14 Nikkor lenses. I also was a photo instructor, teaching black and white photography, studio lighting and advanced darkroom techniques. I even taught several courses for Nikon, primarily teaching older pros how to adapt the newer Nikon gear into their work. My most popular class was the Speedlight SB-24. At the time, Nikon wanted to hire me full time- I like to imagine how vastly different my life would be today if I took them up on the offer :) Long story short, I helped build the first professional digital imaging lab in the DC area and I found that I had an affinity for computers. Today I pay the bills doing IT security for the federal government. I found myself missing my long-gone Nikon gear, so I am now rebuilding my gear and adapting to full digital photography. I'm looking forward to participating here and having fun in the photo challenges. Chris
