Hi Wayne,

Again this is just in my experience, but the fine tuning is quite a dangerous area to enter unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing!

Good luck if you go there and if you get improvements, please let us know!

Hi All im using d7000 too, ive noticed that the shots dont seem to be pin sharp? someone said about the focus settings, any help on this would be appreciated.

Before going in to the auto fine tune, why don't you try shooting a stationary subject using a tripod and mirror lock-up (Mup). Then look at the file on your computer monitor to see if it is actually soft caused by camera shake or it could be just simply poor hand-holding technique. I experienced similar issues before when I first had my D7000, it does require a learning curve to use that camera.

Post a sample image with the exif data (shutter speed, aperture, and ISO settings) so that we can better assess the issue that you are experiencing.

New user too - just set my 35mm 1.8 and tonika 70-300, 35mm seemed to be sharpest at -15 and the 70-300 @300 sharpest at -4.

I had the cam on the floor with a box with small text at the appropriate distance and made the comparisons.

Lens - brand new
Cam - re-refurbished.

Anything wrong with this? - I see +9 has been recommended?

Saw a YouTube video that had a 10-55 and he went to -20 (maximum) .
Any help appreciated
