I am holding off on doing any updates myself because I use a couple of Sigma lenses. With the problems some people have experienced with new cameras, *if* Nikon is doing it intentionally, will a firmware update affect the compatibility with non-Nikon lenses? Since I don't know the answer for sure, I won't plan on doing any firmware updates myself as a precaution. I hope any firmware updates on your camera won't adversely affect using your Sigma or Zeiss lenses. Sounds like the D3s will be a suitable replacement.
