Message: <blockquote data-quote="jcottone45" data-source="post: 45068" data-attributes="member: 2413">I also am thinking of a new telephoto lens with an f stop of 2. or lower, it seems that my old mf lenses when mounted on the d300s have that added 1.5 crop factor so my 50mm f1.2 is a 75mm f1.2 & my 105 mm f2.5 is a 157.5 mm lens so I don't need the newer lenses unless I want auto focus, recently I used my old series E 70-200mm zoom lens & the crop factor came in very handy, I shot across a football field & took a shot of a soccer game on the next field with good results, it was a 350mm shot that came out very clear.My point is don't be too quick to give up the old manual focus lenses because on the d300s they're fantastic unless you have a specific need.!!Joe</blockquote>
