Neewer CN-216

Not sure if this is the right thread for this as this is a light as opposed to a flash.
Available on Amazon Neewer CN-216
Has anyone ever tried this light?
The reviews seem pretty good (although construction is flimsy) and for the price this seems to be a real bargain.
Anyone?
It seems to be a good universal light and I was thinking I could have one of my US or UK fellow Nikonites send it to me if I pay - that's a hint ;)
I will also check e-bay as the shipping by paddle boat to New Zealand is pretty cheap.

Just seen there is a cheaper CN-160 version.
I guess the difference is in the 160 or 216 numbers. Brightness I presume. Candle power.

I have the 160 version, and I also have a larger version that I use on an extension pole...

They work great... the 160 is good for close-up stuff... and fill light... it's forte is it provides just enough light to activate the focus contrast in dark situations...

Both are color corrected/able to 5500 kelvin I believe... I use them mostly off-camera as fill lights...

Great a real user.
From the reviews I figured they would be great fill lights and the mounting seems universal which is a great help.
I reckon with one of these as a fill light, the on camera flash (diffused/ bounced or toned down down) and one other off camera flash I could have an awesome set-up.
I am only adding the one other off camera chirp as I have ordered some remote triggers that are on the boat as I type and I have to validate that purchase. Although it is also a remote shutter release trigger.
Thanks for your reply fred

:D I also use the 160 outside with my grill at night... A regular flash light doesn't render colors correctly, and it's hard to tell if a steak is just right... These little lights render the color corrected light, and you can see when your steaks are just right...

I don't understand any appeal for photography. The 216 says 13 watts, which is not much (but still a lot for batteries). It says 800 Lux - and Wikipedia says a 100 watt incandescent bulb is 1700 Lux. So it sounds about like one 13 watt CFL, for 50 watts equivalent incandescent. You can buy eight of the CFL for $10, vs one of these for $40. I think I am missing something. :)
