Second, I have bought lenses, brand new ones, but never used

The items, two used Nikkor lenses, seller is in Tokyo

1; Nikkor 50 1.4 D -------- price usd 140 ---- cond Exc+++
(Not the today G - the good old D)

2: Nikkor 85 1.8 D ----------- price ca 260 usd -- cond Exc
(also a D lens)

Should I or should I not ??

Which camera(s) do you have? "D" lenses will NOT autofocus on cameras without builtin AF motors (like D3200, D5300).

No reason why you shouldn't. Check the seller's ratings and if they are good and there are lots of them you should be ok.
You can of course also contact the seller.

On the 50mm, looking at EBAY $139 is the price for manual focus, non-D, lenses from the free-shipping Tokyo seller. A dollar more gets you AF and D ?

I smell a typo. Also "Auto" does not mean auto focus.

I've bought dozens of lens from ebay and only had one issue with a 35-70. If the seller has a good rating, then pull the trigger.

at excactly same time i issued an offer for that 85 which he some hrs refused.

So i raised my offer to 10 bucks below buy it now price

that was on Sarurday.

The seller has NOT replied to this

he has not answered any of my mails.

He didnnt answer. The offer expired. It was a little sum of 10 dollars of a 280 dollar lens
So I have raised the 50 to a case at eBay, too bad his reputation of 100% now will get a scar
Is it me or did this go south due to the seller, he never ever responded ;-(

You make a best offer and it is accepted you are obligated to buy on eBay.

No exceptions, you own the 50 1.4 D. Pay the auction.

I own that lens it is spectacular! You will love it.
