I bought a Minolta 35 MM f/2.8 MC Rokker HG(high grade) lens along with an adapter for my D3300. The adapter is about 3/8" thick. With lens on the camera, I get nothing but a complete blurry focus no matter how I adjust the focus ring. From minimum focus to infinity, the live view focus doesn't change. The outer barrel and front lens does move in and out when adjusting the focus ring. What am I doing wrong?

Is there a lens incorporated in the MC adapter? A film on it maybe? An old clouded filter screwed on the lens? Fungus growing in lens?
Best way to figure it out would be to get access to a Minolta SLR and mount your lens on it to look through the viewfinder.
You are using LiveView. It is all the same looking with the viewfinder?
